Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Princeton Authorizing the Award of a Bid Contract to Zone Striping, Inc. for the 2025-2026 Traffic Striping and Pavement Markings Contract for an Amount Not to Exceed $233,133.77

WHEREAS, in response to a Notice to Bidders duly advertised pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-1 et seq. on February 28, 2025, Princeton received and publicly opened the following three (3) bids for the 2025-2026 Traffic Striping and Pavement Markings Contract:
1. $233,133.77 from Zone Striping, Inc. of Glassboro, New Jersey
2. $270,037.25 from Straight Edge Striping of Middlesex, New Jersey
3. $488,329.90 from Dan Swayze & Son, Inc. of Scotch Plains, New Jersey
WHEREAS, department personnel and the Qualified Purchasing Agent have reviewed the bids and determined that the bid submitted by Zone Striping, Inc. is a responsible and responsive bid, and recommend that a contract be awarded to Zone Striping, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the Certified Financial Officer certifies that Princeton has appropriated sufficient funds for these services in budget accounts:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of Princeton, County of Mercer, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The Mayor and Council are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with Zone Striping, Inc. for the 2025-2026 Traffic Striping and Pavement Markings Contract for an amount not to exceed $233,133.77 in accordance with the specifications, terms, and conditions within the Bid Documents.
2. The Contract and Bid Documents will be kept on file in the Office of the Clerk.
