Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Princeton Authorizing the Purchase of Firefighter Protective Gear and Equipment from MES for $63,285.98 utilizing New Jersey State Contracts 25-COMG-131371 and 25-COMG-131390

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Princeton (“Princeton”) wishes to purchase firefighter turn out gear; and
WHEREAS, firefighter protective gear, equipment, and supplies are available on State Contracts 25-COMG-131371 and 25-COMG-131390 awarded by the State of New Jersey, Department of the Treasury, Division of Purchase and Property (“Division”); and
WHEREAS, MES provided a quotation for the desired protective gear and equipment in the amount of $63,285.98; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the authority set forth in N.J.S.A. 40A:11-12 of the Local Public Contracts Law, the Municipality of Princeton may, without publicly advertising for bids, purchase any goods or services under any contract for such goods and services entered into on behalf of the Division; and
WHEREAS, the Certified Financial Officer has certified that the Municipality of Princeton has appropriated sufficient funds for this equipment in account 04-215-25-007-052-308.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Municipality of Princeton, County of Mercer, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The Mayor and Council, or their designee, are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with MES for firefighter protective gear and equipment for $63,285.98 without public bidding as permitted by law utilizing New Jersey State Contracts 25-COMG-131371 and 25-COMG-131390.
2. A copy of this Resolution and the contract will be kept on file in the Office of the Clerk.
