Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Princeton Authorizing the Rejection of Bids and Re-Advertisement of Bid Specifications for Landfill Corrective Measures at the Princeton Sanitary Landfill

WHEREAS, in response to a Notice to Bidders publicly posted on September 4, 2026, Princeton received and publicly opened eight (8) sealed bids on October 20, 2026, for the Landfill Corrective Measures at the Princeton Sanitary Landfill bid (“Project”); and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Engineer and Qualified Purchasing Agent have reviewed the bids and determined that the bid prices submitted substantially exceed the cost estimates and appropriations for the Project; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the Municipality of Princeton wishes to reject all bids and re-advertise the Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Municipality of Princeton, County of Mercer, State of New Jersey, hereby reject all bids for Landfill Corrective Measures at the Princeton Sanitary Landfill pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2a. and -13.2b, based on the reasons set forth in the “Whereas” clauses.
