Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Princeton Authorizing the Rejection of Bids for 2026 Fall Tree Planting

WHEREAS, sealed bids were received on September 10, 2026, for the 2026 Fall Tree Planting bid (“Project”); and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Arborist and Engineer recommend that it is in the Municipality’s best interest to substantially revise the bid specifications and contract documents for this Project and similar projects moving forward; and
WHEREAS, the revisions and re-bid process cannot be completed before the end of the Fall season; and
WHEREAS, as a result of the foregoing, the governing body of the Municipality of Princeton wishes to abandon the project for this season, and to incorporate much of the scope of work originally included in the Fall 2026 Planting in the 2027 Spring Planting project and reject all bids submitted for 2026 Fall Tree Planting.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Municipality of Princeton, County of Mercer, State of New Jersey, hereby reject all bids for 2026 Fall Tree Planting are hereby rejected pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-13.2c. and -13.2d, based on the reasons set forth in the “Whereas” clauses.
