Resolution of the Mayor and Council of Princeton Authorizing an Increase of $50,000 to the Not to Exceed Amount for the Professional Services Agreement with Mason, Griffin & Pierson, P.C. for Legal Services as Municipal Attorney for 2026 for a New Not to Exceed Amount of $450,000

WHEREAS, by Resolution 26-32 adopted on January 12, 2026, Princeton Council awarded a professional services agreement to Mason, Griffin & Pierson, P.C. for Legal Services as Municipal Attorney for 2026 for a not to exceed amount of $400,000.00 and term of one year; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the contract amount for services needed during the remainder of the contract; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that Princeton has appropriated sufficient funds for these services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Municipality of Princeton, County of Mercer, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The Mayor and Council, or their designee, hereby authorize the first amendment to the agreement originally authorized by Resolution 26-32 on January 12, 2026, to increase the not to exceed amount by $50,000.00 for a new not to exceed amount of $450,000.00.
2. All remaining provisions of the original agreement not otherwise amended by or inconsistent herewith shall remain in full force and effect.
3. This Resolution, when countersigned by Mason, Griffin & Pierson, P.C., shall serve as the first amendment to the original agreement between the parties.
4. A copy of this resolution will be kept on file in the Office of the Clerk.
